 Activity 3

In a participant observation online, you have time to think before you actually type something or post a comment onto the website, while in a face to face participant observation you have less time.

On the web, you can digest on what people are written on, convey its meaning to your brain, before you can be express your comments to interact with other users.

On face to face based, you have less time to convey the message, you could miss some of the words other people is saying to you and misunderstand the whole meaning of it.

Activity 4

Translate Activity 3 language from English to Thai, English to Spanish, and vice versa.

For English to Thai and English to Spanish translation, some of the sentences and words can be read and understandable but with wrong grammar though it is probably the best website translator I have ever used.

Vice versa, Thai to English and Spanish to English, sentences and words are translated back with wrong grammar but understandable, you would understand the whole sense of it but not the whole meaning.

In my opinion, with a help of my Spanish friend, I think that the best translation would be Spanish because even though it is with wrong grammar but you would understand it perfectly.

For web translation, I also say this is also the best web translator I've ever used because, words are translated into correct meaning but there are few mistakes that even the best web translator cannot translate it, slang, pun, and other words that is only used in the language and not in English. Grammar mistakes are also the main problem here.

There are few differences on respondent's behavior by the design of the radio buttons, drop down menus, check boxes, and 5 point scale. If it is a radio buttons, check boxes, or a 5 point scale, some surveyors would not read the whole question it asked while he/she just answer by clicking the radio box straightaway. Drop down menu is very helpful to get surveyors attention to read and pay attention to the question asked more.
