Activity 1

After the discussion with the tutor about the specification of the project, we had made few changes to the project proposal. A car review website WILL NOT be based on YolaWebsite but hosted on a other free web hosting that supports blog entries only. The design and style of the website will be customized by CSS, and same to the layout that will be managed by CSS. Log-in and password form for log-in authentication will not be used because of its complications.

A Hybrid Organizational Scheme will be used for this car review website. Hybrid Organizational Scheme creates groups of similar things together such as phone-book, appointment book and shopping mall diagram with store locations. The tutor and I agreed to use Hybrid Organizational Scheme because we believed it is easy for visitors of the website to identify what they are looking for.

Project is estimated to be done in 4-5 weeks time and to be hand-in both report and website in week 9. Further changes can be occurred during week 5 through 9, and an approval is needed from tutor to make these changes.

Activity 2

Scenario 1 – Buying groceries and talking with the checkout operator

It is extremely difficult when people with vision impairment to choose groceries, and also to get the right money to pay the checkout operator. Some recommended vision improvements that may help are to provide supporter person for those vision disabilities or else in case of paying the checkout operator, a checkout counter can have a scanner where it can scan money notes or coins that are placed onto by the buyers, and to be read out aloud by the machine to alert the vision impairment people.

Scenario 2 – Ordering food at a restaurant from a menu, talking with a waiter and eating a meal

Ordering food from the menu is impossible for vision impairment people. In this case, a menu with voice when pressing at particular spot, and this would solve the problem in a way. Talking with a waiter is not a problem because people with vision impairments had ability to recognizing important features of the sound of someone talking and eating a meal is not a problem for vision impairments.

Scenario 3 – Meeting someone new at a party, sports club, BBQ

Again, recognizing important features is easy for people with vision impairment, and so meeting someone new at a party might not be a problem but it came to difficult when ones had to remember others voices instead of faces for normal people.
